On top of it, anytime you need assistance, you don’t negotiate with a random tech that doesn’t know WordPress and operates mostly on database or network management. Any time you need assistance, you negotiate with a WordPress specialist.
For the most part, we were able to fix problems over talk, but there were several concerns that had to be elevated to a ticket in order to be addressed by a higher level tech (such as an SSL credential that wouldn’t appear to propagate).

Owing to a DDoS (denial of service) assault on their database, we had a few places that were down for longer than we would have liked on the WP Engine. This is something that has arisen more than once and they have confirmed that they are focusing in the future for how to stop this. We aren’t exactly why they attacked their servers, but it was inconvenient.
Time for SSL Propagation

We also encountered what we would deem to be unreasonable wait times as their interface propagates and configures an SSL license. This lasted a few days at one point, not the end of the globe again, but it was irritating. They claimed this was due to a bug that usually shouldn’t happen. With WP Engine, we have had SSL certs distributed just perfect, but it’s obviously not something that occurs all the time. However, something seems to have changed in the past year, now that the free Let’s Encrypt SSL certs are normal.
Migratory misconfigurations
We’ve found a few times that their plugin (while amazing and extremely slick) for migrating sites has sometimes not migrated all the URLs correctly, particularly with regard to HTTPS. Again, this is small, but it’s worth noting, because this is also something they are looking to strengthen, as far as we understand.
Recommended WP Engine? It’s They Worth It?
Completely! Completely! There’s no better way to go, in our view, if you’re hosting a WordPress site, in terms of the value for the cost, and also the speed , efficiency, protection, and reliability that you’ll get with WP Engine. There are higher-end WordPress hosts, but in our view, they cost a fortune and are only designed for massive, multinational sites or sites that attract millions of tourists. WP Engine is one of the better choices available if you fell somewhere short of that (or also in that region because they have enterprise plans).
